20th Anniversary Celebrations

LEHDER's 20th Anniversary celebrations extend to our clients, employees and the communities that have supported us throughout the years.  LEHDER has a dedicated committee working hard to show our thanks to those who have helped with LEHDER's success.

A brief overview of the past and future celebratory events are provided below!

Client Celebrations

LEHDER 20th Anniversary Client Golf TournamentLEHDER held their annual golf tournament with clients, vendors and staff on June 18, 2015 at the Sawmill Creek Golf Resort and Spa.  The day didn't start out well and forecasts brought bad news but the rain stopped by tee time, the clouds moved off and the day turned out beautiful!  Our thanks go out to the golfers, through donations and the purchase of mulligans, LEHDER raised almost $800 for the Inn of the Good Shepherd. It was a great day on the course and the clients and employees who decided not to golf enjoyed relaxing treatments at the spa.

LEHDER appreciated everyone taking the time out of their busy schedule to attend and we enjoyed hosting you - thanks again to everyone who attended!

LEHDER Employees and Clients Enjoyed a Day of GolfLEHDER's employees in Point Edward enjoyed a day on the golf course (or in the spa) during the annual golf tournament.  Our staff appreciation event will involve a lakeside barbeque late this summer for employees and their families.  Employees in Edmonton will be enjoying a family ski day later this year.  Christmas party plans and additional celebrations are also underway.

LEHDER Annual ETG Conference 2015

Each year, the Emissions Testing Group from Edmonton arrives in Point Edward for a team conference.  The staff spent three days in April attending presentations by LEHDER Partners, staff and coworkers,  as well as external training and discussions including a wellness session, electrical safety training and presentations by clients and vendors. This annual conference strengthens our team, promotes idea-sharing and continuous improvement and gives everyone the chance to 'let loose' together!

LEHDER ETG Amazing Race

LEHDER ETG Amazing RaceTo wrap up each ETG Conference, a team building event is planned and to celebrate our 20th anniversary, the ETG staff participated in the LEHETG Amazing Race at the YMCA Leadership CentreDER ETG Amazing Race!  The teams spent an afternoon working together to complete tasks throughout the city, from reciting lines as Southern Belles, helping out at the local food bank, digging their way through a vat of liver and a multitude of other tasks.  The Teams ran a great Race and everyone had a lot of fun working together to accomplish everything they were required to do.

One of LEHDER's 20th Anniversary Committee's mandates was to do something significant for our communities; it was hard to choose from all the great ideas but we're excited to be volunteering our time through the following initiatives.

LEHDER receives the coveted prize of Judges' Favourite. In March, LEHDER participated in Sarnia's Inn of the Good Shepherd's CANstruction event at Lambton Mall.  The event was extremely successful, with Sarnia placing 2nd in the world (1st in Canada) for the amount of food and money raised and 18th in the world (2nd in Canada) for the weight of food raised.  More importantly, CANstruction 2015 Sarnia-Lambton raised 39,131 lbs of food and $32, 408 in funds for The Inn this year!

LEHDER's team 'Bee a Leader' have fun at Canstruction's Build Day.Team 'Bee a Leader' spent months planning and pre-building our 'Hunger Stings' structure; a 6' honey bee and statement wall using just under 3200 cans.  Build day was a fantastic experience for the team, especially with the community interaction as the bee and wall took shape.  The team was honoured to receive an award for their inaugural build, taking home the coveted prize of Judges' Favourite.  Plans are already under way for next year's event!

LEHDER Volunteer Team

LEHDER's volunteer team, the 'Fun Squad'LEHDER's Volunteer Team is comprised of LEHDER employees, family and friends.  Throughout the year, the Volunteer Team will be providing help to local events and charities.  Our first event was assisting with the Huron House Boy's Home Adrenaline Trail where the LEHDER 'Fun Squad' took pictures and awarded points for team spirit for the teams running the Adrenaline Trail.  Check out the LEHDER Volunteer Team mention in the Lambton Shield's article on the event here!

LEHDER was honoured to be nominated for the 2015 Sarnia Lambton Chamber of Commerce Outstanding Business Achievement Award (OBAA) in the Health, Safety and Environmental category.   Our congratulations go out to Anderson-Webb, the winners in this category!

LEHDER also sponsored the OBAA for the Social Profit (Not for Profit) of the Year Award and was extremely pleased to present the award to the Inn of the Good Shepherd.  To view a video of LEHDER President, Sid Lethbridge, presenting the award, please click here.
