Our core strength in Air Quality is demonstrated in the LEHDER Environmental Information Management Service (LEIMS). The LEHDER Emissions Testing Team is one of the largest and most experienced in Canada and is recognized by Canadian and U.S. regulatory agencies. LEHDER applies our depth of expertise and experience to ensure that our client gets the best solution!
Certificates of Approval
A Certificate of Approval (CofA) is required for anyone in Ontario who constructs, alters, replaces, or extends anything that may discharge a contaminant into the natural environment, other than water. The Basic Comprehensive CofA is now the preferred Approval of the Ontario Ministry of the Environment.
Dispersion Modeling
Dispersion Modeling is often a requirement for attaining Certificates of Approval and Air Permits. LEHDER offers extensive modeling expertise across a wide variety of sectors. Pro-active self-assessment is an area where LEHDER excels, allowing clients to identify potential problems before they arise, and to employ effective solution development.
Emission Inventories
A robust source and emission inventory is an integral part of a strategic approach to understanding emissions and the significance of those emissions. These inventories are used for applications for Certificates of Approval, dispersion modeling, NPRI, Ontario Reg. 127, TRI, NERM submissions and emission reduction programs.
Odour Investigations
Citizen complaints about odour need to be taken seriously to avoid negative publicity, regulatory orders and perhaps civil actions. LEHDER has developed a unique phased approach to odour investigations to ensure the problem is clearly understood and solutions are developed to address the root cause of the odorous emissions.
Reg. 419
Reg. 419 - Local Air Quality has introduced changes in the way that Air Quality is regulated in Ontario that are radical and sweeping. Targeted sectors (based on NAICS codes) are identified for phased-in application of the new models and associated effects based standards in 2010 and 2013. All other facilities must demonstrate compliance with new POI standards by 2010 and the new models and associated effects-based standards by 2020.
Too Much DATA?
Industrial facilities today are faced with the challenge of collecting, storing, managing and evaluating an immense amount of environmental, health and safety data.
Typical data problems include unintegrated, duplicated, compartmentalized data. In simple terms the Data Problem is:
Too much DATA but not enough INFORMATION
LEIMS, the LEHDER EHS Information Management Service can assist facility personnel in managing their facility's EHS data and turn it into information which is useful in decision making. |
