The purpose of the Transportation of Dangerous Goods Act is to promote public safety in the transportation of Dangerous Goods or TDG as it is commonly known.

The Definition of “Dangerous Goods” is very broad and as a general rule considered to be any substance (i.e. gas, liquid or solid) in a specific quantity that can create harm to human life, property or the environment in a given period once released from its container.

Anyone who handles, offers for transport or transports dangerous goods must be adequately trained, or perform his or her duties in the presence of and under the direct supervision of a trained individual.

LEHDER can assist facilities with challenges related to the Transportation of Dangerous Goods through:

Providing in house customized training in the transportation of dangerous goods or waste by various modes of transport (i.e. TDG, 49CFR, IATA, IMDG)

Advising on packaging, marking and labeling requirements for dangerous goods and/or wastes
