Daryl
Zander has over 13 years of experience in the area
of environmental management and testing gained through
assisting clients with a wide variety of environmental
issues. Daryl manages and conducts projects to audit
activities and facilities in the upstream oil and
gas sector; measures emissions of various pollutants
as required by Approvals and Operating Permits;
evaluates process parameters to improve efficiencies
or
operation of various processes; determines efficiency
and conducts performance guarantee testing of
pollution control devices.
Daryl's Project Experience
includes:
Air Quality Management
Source
Sampling - coordinated and conducted numerous
emission test programs to satisfy various provincial,
federal and state regulatory agencies at the following
industrial facilities:
power
generating stations
oil
refineries
upstream
oil and gas production
petrochemical
manufacturing
organic
and inorganic chemical manufacturing
portland
cement manufacturing
incineration
and thermal treatment of wastes
building
products
mineral
processing
pulp
and paper
resin
bonded wood products (OSB & MDF)
material
recycling
asphalt
production
Conducted
laboratory session for Environmental Sciences
students at the Northern Alberta Institute of
Technology in Edmonton on stack sampling equipment
and techniques.
Conducted
testing to determine the factors leading to a
condensing plume from a portland cement manufacturing
facility. Tests were conducted to determine chemical
composition of both the particulate and gas phase
of a combustion gas effluent stream. Samples were
taken from a location prior to an electrostatic
precipitator as well as after particulate removal
by the ESP. Particle size was determined on bulk
dust samples collected prior to the ESP and also
on samples collected from the stack gases. Testing
indicated that the visible emission was due to
condensing ammonium chloride or ammonium sulphate.
Conducted
testing of sawdust emissions from seven high efficiency
cyclones at an oriented strand board mill to determine
total loading and size fractions for design of
baghouses to be installed on the sources.
Environmental Management
and Compliance Systems
Facility Audits
Completed audits of upstream oil and gas facilities to ensure compliance with environmental and
health & safety guidelines.
Environmental Policies and Procedures
Development of quality assurance plans for facility continuous emission monitoring systems.
